This is truly a statement piece of Art Jewellery that holds both beauty and power.
Conventionally, the 'tie' represents a certain kind of (masculine) power. River Nymph subverts this conventional understanding of the tie, and evokes, rather, a mystical feminine beauty and otherworldliness.
This piece is lovingly hand stitched one bead at a time. I used a variety of Japanese glass seed and cube beads to create a textured tapestry effect, and incorporated a large (reconstituted) turquoise at the throat, and a spectacular labradorite teardrop (with an ombre rainbow glow) dropping toward the navel. There is an asymmetric neck with pearl at the right side, and at the left is a peyote snake holding the turquoise stone in its mouth. Two small garnets represent the snake's eyes.
